Trailers are many and come in different sizes and shape. Trailers are classified depending on the type of work it is meant to do. Some trailers are used for personal purposes. These trailers are used by an individual in his own business. The following is a list of some common trailers.

Travel trailers
These are small trailers that are attached to a car for transporting personal effects. Everything that you wish to carry on a journey is put into these types of trailers. These trailers are mounted onto a car or truck that has got a point of attachment.

Semi-trailer trucks
These types of trailers are used mainly for commercial purposes. They are larger and their carrying capacity is quite big. Trailers of this nature cannot be towed by a person hence they require a car or truck to tow it.

Open trailers
These are trailers that are used in disposing off of whatever you are done with. They are mainly used in hauling farm equipment and all the merchandise to a specific destination. Open trailers should not be used in towing materials that can brake easily. In addition, these trailers require one to be careful less he will damage the materials.

Enclosed trailers
These are used for general purposes. These trailers are considered the best in hauling vehicles. They are also meant for hauling contracting machines and other small equipment. Enclosed trailers give the materials more protection thus they are not exposed to danger when transporting. Dangers brought about by different weather conditions are also kept at bay by these types of trailers. It is also difficult for thieves to get access to your goods if this type of trailer is used. Therefore your goods will not be tempered with by anybody at any given time.

Tanker trailer
These are used for the transportation of liquids. However, thorough cleaning of this type of trailer is required. These trailers require extra caution during transportation to avoid spilling the liquid. It is also used to transport highly inflammable liquids such as fuels.

Flatbed trailers
These are used to transport extremely heavy materials and merchandise. A crane is used to load these trailers since the materials cannot be handled by a person. You need to be careful when transporting for it can cause damage or injure other road users.

Livestock trailers
These are used in transporting livestock. They are made in such a way that ventilation is thorough to avoid the animals dying. The driver should be checking the animals regularly to ensure that they era alive.

Van semi trailers
They are used in transporting most machines. Loading is done in the rear with the help of a crane or a forklift. These machines needs total care and maintenance respectively.
